The British Flute Society
The British Flute Society is Europe's oldest flute organisation and membership is for anyone who plays, teaches, makes, sells, composes or enjoys listening to the flute. It publishes a quarterly journal called Pan - The Flute Magazine which includes articles on all aspects of the flute and flute playing.

Music For Everyone
Formerly known as Nottingham Choral Trust, Music For Everyone offers a wide range of musical activities for all ages in the East Midlands area. Of particular interest are the annual Bandwise (for younger players) and Blow The Dust Off Your Instrument (for adults) events, providing ensemble playing opportunities for woodwind, brass and string players.
Nottingham Symphonic Winds
Nottingham Symphonic Winds Orchestra was formed in 1987 for wind, brass and percussion players. Entry is by audition and players are of an advanced standard (generally grade 8+). Their sister group Nottingham Wind Ensemble is open to anyone of grade 3 or equivalent standard. Both groups meet for rehearsals on Sunday mornings during term time with regular concerts.
Nottingham Youth Orchestra and Youth Jazz Orchestra
Founded in 1985 for young orchestral musicians, Nottingham Youth Orchestra consists of three orchestras; Training, Intermediate and Youth. Entry is by audition. Nottingham Youth Jazz Orchestra is for jazz musicians and entry is also by audition. Players are a minimum standard of grade 5.
